History and recent activities

History from 1994 on:

My first step was trying to survive in a very competitive market, here for I continued business relations which I started in the past and bought and sold metals on a commission bases. In May 1995 I started working as a consultant/buyer for the “Robinson Group LTD” in Newcastle upon Tyne which is now part of EMR. I was specifically specialised through the years in shredded non-ferrous residues, suitable for a Heavy Media plant and started buying this product for the Robinson Group since they operated such a plant. In the same time I never stopped my trading activities, which always guaranteed my independent status. In May 1998 I was challenged by the possibility to assist and later to be part of the management of Huron Valley Europe NV in Overpelt Belgium.


Activities as an agent,

Since June of 2003 I am working with GDE Recyclage , assisting in the sales of their shredded products, to the "far east" for handsorting. Next to this I am expanding my activities with several other partners not only in commercial matters but also consulting in matters like trans-frontier shipments in which sometimes notification procedures have to be started and solutions are worked out with the authorities.

GDE is not the only recycling company we are selling the shredded and floated metarials for, we are also quite strong in the sales of output materials of different other Heavy Media plants in Europe.

Activities as a trader,

We started a close cooperation with JVO recycling, with a fresh view and expanding activities since the middle of 2006 and were involved in the sales of their products to the far-east market in that time.
In April 2008 the Heavy Media Plant of JVO got operational and was capable of treating the metal fractions from for instance "incinerator plants" and sort the MM3("Heavies") from "Aluminum-scrap", which created more business opportunities.
So that we could decide whether it was more interesting to sort the material in Europe or to sell the mixture and let the "Far East" market deal with the sorting of the scrap.
The decision for this is most of the times dependant on the need of the raw materials in the "Far East".

In 2005 we extended the tonnage of raw material sourced at the several suppliers, and sold it direct in the far east marketplace. This created a better and more independant status towards our exisiting clients. Mainly because of this and the bigger risks involved with the higher volumes traded, we decided in 2007 to convert our VOF into two seperate companies;

1) Levimet BV, in which all activities concerning contacts between selling and demanding parties are being maintained in a discrete and unique way.

2) Levimet Export BV, in which all trading activities are done and in which most important issues like service and quick payment are of the highest priority.

In 2010 we seperated from JVO and started to do business on our own again after the bankrupcy of JVO. We continued and started a new company in 2010

3) Levimet Trading BV, this company was created to split the risks of the Far-East business from business and trading conducted within the European Union.
